Medical Musings

Read my share of very interesting articles this week:

(1) A must-know for most people on the east coast who are more prone to vit D deficiencies:
http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/02/18/vitamin-labels-may-be-wrong/?nl=health&emc=edit_hh_20130219

(2) OK, I must say, thank you Pres. Obama: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/18/science/project-seeks-to-build-map-of-human-brain.html?nl=todaysheadlines&emc=edit_th_20130218
I am extremely fascinated by the brain (esp. with neurodegenerative disorders, neuroplasticity, addiction, etc...) and there is so much that is  simply unknown that more research would be extremely beneficial.

(3) Being conscious of medical errors: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/20/opinion/losing-my-leg-to-a-medical-error.html?src=me&ref=general
I have extremely strong convictions on this front.

(4) Some insight on addiction treatments: http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/02/11/picking-addiction-help/

*Lastly, but not posted are the articles form the times on depuy's faulty hips in the context of medical ethics. Google and read them if ya'll have a chance.
